Although the weather was quite hot and sunny, from early in the morning, many people came to Bach Dang park to admire the moment the hot air balloon raised its flag from the banks of the Saigon River (Thu Duc city). There were 10 hot air balloons released into the sky of Ho Chi Minh City, of which the 2 largest hot air balloons were used to hoist the grand flag.

In the crowded stream of people, Ms. Phuong, who lives in Binh Thanh district, and her family said she was very excited to see the city in a different scenery.

"The weather today is a bit hot, but everyone is excited to admire the National flag on a meaningful day. The feeling of watching the National flag flying in the sky, while in the river there are rowing boats with images The colors of the red flag and yellow star are very moving," Ms. Phuong shared.

According to Mr. Vo Trong Nam - deputy director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, hoisting the big flag into the sky is considered complicated because it depends heavily on weather conditions and wind direction. Compared to the test pulling session on September 1, the weather on the morning of September 2 was clearer and more beautiful, however the wind direction changed constantly, causing the crew to make a lot of effort.

"The entire crew of 120 people coordinated smoothly and adjusted techniques to get the flag flying in the city sky," Mr. Nam shared with Tuoi Tre Online.

In addition, there are also paragliding, windsurfing performances on the river, dragon boats... which are also very exciting.

At 3:00 p.m. on September 2, the activity of releasing hot air balloons combined with pulling the great flag will be carried out again. At night, the organizers light up lights to create a sparkling scene on the riverbank to serve people on holiday in the city.
